Street of a 1000 Pleasures is now on DVD from Something Weird Video, that is one of my favorite treasures of the past. It's about a guy who saves some sheiks life and in return gets his choice of 71 women.

Hey horror film fans. The Asylum, the feature film production distribution company of such great horror films as Jolly Roger and the upcoming Frankenstein Reborn and Beast of Bray Road is looking to cast our die hard (wink wink) fans as zombies in a new film shooting in Los Angeles from July 18 - 23 called DEAD MEN WALKING.

If you're interested in joining the cast and seeing yourself on screen, call Bernard at 323-464-3432 by no later than noon on July 14.

Hope to scream you there!

Hi all,

I've been trying to figure out the name of this film for years, to no avail >:(. If I can find this movie, I'll die a happy man. Hopefully.

It was in the mid to late 80's. I only remember one scene: a fat guy is working behind the counter of a store. A zombie comes in. We see "fat guy" panicking from the zombies POV, and then a shot of a zombified hand plunging a knife into a white shirt, and some blood. The next scene is of two cops talking about how the guys body was found partially eaten. I think there may have been mention of fat people all over the city being eaten, but I'm not sure.

Any help eternally appreciated.

THE LAST SHARK - Also known as L'ULTIMO SQUALO – GREAT WHITE – SHARK
Directed by Enzo G. Castellari in 1981
Starring James Franciscus, Vic Morrow, Micaela Pignatelli (credited as Micky Pignatelli), Joshua Sinclair, Giancarlo Prete (credited as Timothy Brent) and Stefania Girolami.
Probably one of the all time best (and most sought after) Jaws clones from Italy! A 30-foot Great White has made a small seaside town, known as Port Harbor, its feeding grounds just before the annual Wind Surf Regatta. After the star surfer and a local fisherman disappear, Franciscus and Morrow try and put a stop to the festivities. Unfortunately, the mayor decides to go ahead providing proper measures are taken. Only this great white doesn't know when to quit and turns the Regatta into his own personal human flesh smorgasbord! When the local teens, including Franciscus' daughter and the Mayor's son, decide to kill the shark, things go awry and now it's up to Franciscus and Morrow to seek revenge! Castellari directs with a bigger than usual budget (including a reported $4 million dollar advertising budget) featuring what has got to be the largest shark prop in cinema history and another fine score from the De Angelis brothers. Antonio (Piranha II, Macabro) Corridori supplies the gruesome effects of people being gnawed in half! Pulled from screen shortly after its original U.S. theatrical release due to its obvious similarities to a certain director's "Bruce", this great movie is now available to you in its original uncut form, widescreen and in English language with Japanese subtitles.

FRANKENSTEIN UNBOUND
Directed by Roger Corman in 1990
Starring John Hurt, Raul Julia, Bridget Fonda and Nick Brimble
Mesmerizing from start to finish, this wild reinterpretation of an excessively interpreted story does what I at one time believed was no longer possible… It makes the word Frankenstein exciting again. Hurt is Dr. Buchanan, a respected scientist in 2031 who has developed the ultimate weapon – a particle beam capable of… well, what it ends up being capable of is more than anyone bargained for! The use of the laser produces small black holes, irreversible rifts in time that cannot be undone. It’s through one of these rifts that the good Doctor is warped back to the time of Mary Shelly and thrust into the middle of the situation that would later serve as inspiration for Shelly’s book. It doesn’t end there, however. This fascinating movie features excellent performances from all involved and Hurt really stands out as a tormented man who discovers the hard way who the real monsters are. Stunning visuals and truly unique prosthetic design highlight one of the most underrated films ever to root itself in this most abused mythology. The American print, as well as most others, has been shorn of the most graphic moments of gore. We are very pleased to make available the totally uncut version of Frankenstein Unbound in English language with Japanese subtitles.

LA MASCHERA DEL DEMONIO Also known as BLACK SABBATH – DEMONS 5: THE DEVIL'S VEIL
Directed by Lamberto Bava in 1989
Starring Alessandra Bonarotta, Eva Grimaldi, Michael Soavi, Giovanni Guidelli, Deborah Caprioglio and Laura Devoti.
Here is Lamberto Bava's tribute to his father's own Mask of the Devil (aka Black Sabbath) that owes just as much to that original landmark film as it does to the director's own Demons series. A group of young skiers fall into an open ice crevice only to discover a frozen body wearing an odd death mask. Once removed, the group starts showing signs of odd behavior until they find a path leading to a temple and a deserted village with only one inhabitant, a 200 year-old blind priest! Soon it's apparent that several of the members are possessed by demons connected to a witch who was burned at the stake hundreds of years ago! The priest tries to exorcise the demons but all hell breaks loose including a very disturbing evil sex scene you won't soon forget! Lots of nudity and special effects in this movie that also boasts excellent direction and incredible atmosphere from cinematographer Gianfranco (Four Flies on Grey Velvet) Transunto. Even Sergio Stivaletti is on hand to provide the astonishing creature and gore effects! This incredibly rare Italian Telefilm is now available completely uncut and in its original Italian language (ONLY Italian spoken, no English speaking or English subtitles!) with Japanese subtitles.

TOO MUCH GOLD FOR ONE GRINGO – Also Known As THEY BELIEVED HE WAS A SAINT – LO CREDEVANO UNO STINCO DI SANTO
Directed by Juan Bosch in 1971
Starring Anthony Steffen, Daniel Martin, Manuel Guitian, Fernando Sancho, Gustavo Re and Tania Alvarado
“Greed is always in a hurry.” That’s a line spoken by Dan Carver to his kidnappers after a treacherous jailbreak. Carver has been in jail for twenty years, alone in the world with only the secret location of a tremendous amount of gold to comfort him. There are others who know that Carver holds this secret, and they also know what day his twenty years are up! Among them – Trash (Steffen), Preacher, Apache, and even the mayor of the town he’s jailed in. Everybody shows on the day of release but its Trash and Carver’s temporary cellmate who manages to get him away from the town. The three of them form a pact agreeing to a share of the gold once they all realize that they’ll need each other in order to get it. Still, people like the mayor, Preacher, and the other outlaws… they don’t forget so easily! Angry and filled with bloodlust they are always just a few steps behind our trio of gold hunters! And then there’s Rojas (Sancho) and his gang… The odds are definitely stacked in favor of the hunters! Exciting and violent action abounds in this exceptional (and very very rare) Italian/Spanish western featuring another terrific performance from genre legend Steffen (everybody is great actually) and a very cool soundtrack courtesy of Marcello Giombini! Enjoy Too Much Gold For One Gringo in the widescreen format! It’s also presented to you in English language with Greek subtitles.

BLOODY PAYROLL – Also Known As MILANO VIOLENTA – COMMANDO TERROR
Directed by Mario Caiano in 1976
Starring Claudio Cassinelli, Silvia Dionisio, John Steiner, and Elio Zamuto
Cassinelli is absolutely riveting as part of a foursome of robbers that attempts a daring bank heist which turns very bad. Cassinelli and Steiner stay behind after the cops show up and try to keep them distracted while the other two guys make their getaway with the cash. None of it goes down easy but, for the most part, everything works as it’s supposed to. The only problem is that the two ambitious flunkies now have a safe hideout, all the cash and way too much time to think. One convinces the other that a fifty-percent split is a lot better than any other option. Once everybody is together again betrayal is swift and Cassinelli is left for dead. This is not the case and before long they will be hunted like the dogs they are! This is a very intense Italian crime colossus that gives you everything you want and need! Excessive violence, car chases, nudity, and a cool soundtrack courtesy of Gianfranco Plenizio. Caiano’s films have garnered a lot of respect and it’s movies like Bloody Payroll that help illustrate why! We are proud to present this powerhouse title uncut, widescreen, and in English language with no subtitles.

COBRA MISSION – Also Known As CINQUE UOMINI CONTRO TUTTI
Directed by Fabrizio De Angelis in 1985
Starring Christopher Connelly, John Steiner, Oliver Tobias, Manfred Lehmann and Ethan Wayne.
It’s a little bit Uncommon Valor. It’s also a little bit Missing In Action. The truth is that it’s a little bit of a lot of things. Beyond that, it’s all Italian eighties action from Fabrizio De Angelis! Having said all that many fans may believe that they know exactly what to expect from this title, that might not be so. This movie is an excessively cynical and surprisingly grim action/drama that does just about everything in its power to be unlike the films that it at first seems to be inspired by. The set-up is like this; a group of men who, by sticking together, survived the horrors of the war have decided that it’s time somebody got back into the jungles of Vietnam to rescue ‘yesterday’s heroes’ from the concentration camps where they still suffer. It’s ten years after the fact though, so support is not what you’d call in abundance. They manage to start what they set out to do but will they be able to finish? Cobra Mission really stands out from the rest with an icy hopelessness that you might not be used to from this genre, for that alone it deserves its reputation. Keep an eye out for small roles from Donald Pleasence, Luciano Pigozzi (as Alan Collins), Ennio Girolami, Gordon Mitchell, and Enzo Castellari. Now that is some ensemble! Enjoy Cobra Mission uncut and in English language with Japanese subtitles.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE – Also Known As SOLDATO DI VENTURA
Directed by Pierluigi Ciriaci in 1989
Starring Daniel Greene, Bo Svenson and Savina Gersak
Greene is a mercenary who survives by taking dirty jobs around the world. When something involving a body count needs to get done he’s the man to go to. Trained by the military and known as a top-notch Green Beret, he’s definitely able to put a hurtin’ on anybody you like… for a price! This man has a lot of problems; he has no memory of his last mission, just flashes of a beautiful woman… and death. All that, whatever it was, took place in some remote location in Afghanistan. Now, whether he likes it or not, he’ll be returning there. The assignment is to escort a scientist to the crash site of a Russian MIG, one that the Russians themselves can not seem to locate. Lots of firefights and intense action of the kind you’d expect from an Italian action movie made in the late 80’s, but there is a twist! I won’t give away too much here… Suffice it to say that about two-thirds of the way through the running time Soldier of Fortune turns into a fantasy-action-science-fiction-adventure movie! Enjoy this very rare movie totally uncut and in English language with Japanese subtitles.

RISKING... Also Known As PRONTO AD UCCIDERE
Directed by Franco Prosperi in 1976 & Starring Ray Lovelock, Martin Balsam and Elke Sommer
Lovelock stars as Massimo, a young undercover cop with a taste for violence and a thirst for revenge! Massimo gets himself arrested and quickly infiltrates the ranks of the underworld figure serving a sentence. Eventually a breakout is planned and Massimo is to be included. Just about as soon as they hit the street an attempt is made on the boss’ (Martin Balsam) life. Massimo acts quickly in helping to save him and that’s the in he has been waiting for. The hope of the police and our hero is that he can dig deep enough into the organization to bring them all crashing down at the perfect moment! And there are other reasons behind Massimo’s willingness to do whatever it takes; when he was a fresh rookie some racketeers on the run shot his mother in the back causing her to become handicapped for the rest of her life. If those men are found there’ll be hell to pay! The action in this fast-paced Italian crime thriller never seems to stop! Car chases, gun battles (splashy ones at that thanks to the talents of Giuseppe Ferranti), vicious fights… It comes on like a speeding train! Along with all the violent action is the strength of Balsam’s performance, just as expected! The soundtrack’s crime-jazz is urgent and cool, especially during the chases! Sommer is on hand throughout the later half of the movie to provide, among other things, some of the nudity and though her role is significant it is essentially a cameo. Enjoy this great title totally uncut and in English language with Greek subtitles.

AN IDEAL PLACE TO KILL Also Known As UN POSTO IDEALE PER UCCIDERE, OASIS OF FEAR, DIRTY PICTURES, DEADLY TRAP
Directed by Umberto Lenzi in 1971 & Starring Ornella Muti, Ray Lovelock and Irene Papas
Ingrid (Muti) and Richard (Lovelock) have the world at their fingertips. They are young, in love and without a care in the world. They’re on holiday in Italy and find that all they need to get by are some naked pictures of Ingrid to sell. This works out for a little while but after they are busted by the police for selling illegal pornography, freed of their belongings by a group of traveling cycle jockeys and asked to leave Italy in 24 hours, things take a turn for the serious. While traveling on an out-of-the-way road the car they’re driving runs out of gas. This happens very near a large villa. Knocking produces no results but the garage door is open so why not steal a little gas to get by on? A hysterical woman (Papas) bursts into the garage screaming and threatening to call the police but is quickly put at relative ease by the free-spirited nature of her guests. This is where the mysteries of this particular giallo are set into motion as all in this house is not as it seems. The lady they meet proves to be unpredictable, screaming and nervous one minute and seductive and sure the next; none of it sits well with Ingrid at all and even Richard eventually decides that something must be going on to warrant such erratic behavior. Indeed, there are many secrets within the walls of the villa and our young lovers soon find themselves in way over their heads! From here on a series of twists and revelations unfold with suspenseful perfection thanks to the proven skills of Umberto Lenzi and his crew. Muti is staggeringly beautiful, as is the location photography. An excellent and recommended thriller that even features the attack sequence set in the aviary that is cut from the Dutch and other prints! This is not to be confused with another of Lenzi’s fantastic gialli from 1971, A Quiet Place to Kill. An Ideal Place To Kill is available for your enjoyment now in English language with Greek subtitles.

THE GUN Also Known As L'ARMA, SNIPER
Directed by Pasquale Squitieri in 1978 & Starring Claudia Cardinale, Stefano Satta Flores, Benedetta Fantoli, Clara Colosimo and Giuseppe Morabito (credited as Pino Morabito).
For those who love their Italian violence on the cynical side (with an aggressive lean towards the paranoid) comes The Gun; a tale of an ‘everyday man’ that comes to the breaking point when push finally comes to shove. With crime growing at every turn and poverty on the rise, Campagna decides to purchase a gun after seeing a thieving young punk shot down by the police outside his apartment building following a botched burglary. Using the excuse that his new weapon is to protect his family we slowly learn the truth, that loving his wife and daughter is the farthest thing from his mind! His all-consuming obsession with control proves self-destructive for both himself as well as all those around him. This desire for power guarantees a crescendo of violence! Fellini favorite Claudia Cardinale plays the wife to a man she can no longer reach while Stefano Satta Flores as Luigi Campagna gives a riveting and powerful performance of a man lost under the weight of his own ideals and on the verge of a complete mental breakdown! This bleak look at desperation, weakness, and violence becomes even more jarring with fantastic dreamlike moments from cinematographer Giulio Albonico and a powerful musical score from Tullio De Piscopo. If you like your crime with a downbeat edge then we highly recommend this very rare print of The Gun which is presented widescreen, uncut, and in English language with Greek subtitles.

BLACK COBRA 2 Also Known As COBRA NERO 2
Directed by Edoardo Margheriti (credited as Dan Edwards) & Starring Fred Williamson, Nicholas Hammond, Emma Hoagland and Kristine Erlandson
Detective Robert Malone is back at it again! This one jumps right into it as Malone is part of a seemingly simple bust that goes bad. He ends up chasing a determined criminal through the streets of the city. When the chase turns into a hostage situation Malone must make a decision… He shoots the jerk-off in the face! Well, that doesn’t sit well with his superiors who feel that his violent methods are far too over the top. So, they send Malone to the Philippines to work under the supervision of an Interpol agent (Hammond of 70’s TV Spiderman fame) so that he can learn restraint and tolerance. Just about as quickly as he can step off of the plane, our heroic detective finds that he is mixed up in a dangerous murder case and perhaps a little romance with the catalyst-victim’s daughter? Perhaps indeed! Sound crazy? It is! Just the way it should be! It’s all a little far-fetched, granted, but Williamson is always cool to watch and the movie is a lot of fun, even if not for the right reasons! A quick note for fans of the original, with Stelvio Massi no longer at the helm, it’s wise to approach this as a reinvention or reinterpretation of Black Cobra rather than as a proper sequel. That being said, it’s also important to point out that you can now finally enjoy The Black Cobra 2 totally uncut, widescreen, and in the English language with Japanese subtitles.

RUSH Also Known As BLOOD RUSH
Directed by Tonino Ricci (As Anthony Richmond) in 1983 & Starring Luigi Mezzanotte (As Conrad Nichols), Gordon Mitchell, Laura Trotter, Rita Furlan and Daniele Stroppa.
Rush is a loner in this action packed tale of rebellion and hope for tomorrow. Long after the world has stopped growing wildlife, our hero roams the countryside generally avoiding and occasionally fighting barbaric rogues and a fascist military group wearing gas masks! He's pretty good at taking care of himself until the unstoppable and untouchable faction gets hold of him. Some being robots, he still manages to take several out before being overpowered and taken prisoner. It's here where the movie really kicks in as he is imprisoned and forced to work at a labor plantation ran by an evil thug named Yor played with some serious menace by Gordon Mitchell! In between proving himself with the local prisoners via knife fights, Rush finds time to attempt escapes, seduce the local good girl, get tortured, plant some vegetables and lead a rebellion to overthrow Yor! It's non-stop action for science fiction fans with tons of motorcycle chases through caves, gunfights, catfights, stunts and even more deadly mayhem! Many may recognize the rousing score by Francesco De Masi with tunes lifted from Escape From The Bronx! Italian screenwriter Tito (Jungle Holocaust) Carpi wrote while Tonino Ricci directs this unusual and extremely rare Post Nuke treasure. We are now proud to bring you Rush completely uncut (domestic prints are cut and have altered credits) in English with Japanese subtitles.

Hi SuperHeidi,
Your site is the BEST! Most of my friends think i'm a sick puppy, hehe? Cause i'm hooked on GORE! When i was a young teen my friend Ronnie & I made our own HORROR
films, with an old Super 8mm movie camera. He played Dracula & i played the Wolfman. We spent many hours filming in NYC our home and traveled to locations around the city. Oh, those were great times!
